Bob Pennycook is a contemporary mixed-media landscape artist based in Tweed, Ontario. Working primarily with acrylic on canvas, he also explores oil painting, pastels, and printmaking as part of his artistic practice. His work is an expressive interpretation of the landscapes that surround him, capturing the interplay of shapes, colors, textures, rhythm, and patterns found in nature.

With decades of experience, Pennycook has exhibited extensively in juried shows across Canada and the United States, earning recognition for his dynamic and textured approach to landscape painting. He is an elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists and the Colour and Form Society, and his work has been featured in numerous publications and corporate collections. Beyond his own artistic practice, he has contributed to the art community as a workshop instructor, editorial writer, and designer, sharing his expertise in painting and printmaking with artists across North America.

Through his bold use of color and layered techniques, Pennycook’s work invites viewers to experience the landscape in a fresh, expressive way—one that goes beyond realism to capture the essence of nature’s movement and energy.

For Pennycook, painting is more than a creative pursuit—it is a way to capture the quiet beauty of the land and share its restorative power with others.
